- Vice Ganda promised Joven Olvido that he will play a role in his next upcoming show
- Joven will receive personal mentorship from Vice Ganda as a comedian and a brand-new tricycle
- Joven still feels like a winner after losing “Pilipinas Got Talent Season”
Joven Olvido may not be the “Pilipinas Got Talent Season Six Grand Champion,” but he sure did win Vice Ganda’s attention.
Joven Olvido is an aspiring comedian who immediately caught the people’s attention, especially judge Vice Ganda, during his first appearance on the PGT stage. He is a tricycle driver in Laguna. In his first performance, Vice Ganda promised to sponsor him a brand-new tricycle.
His first act did not turn out as he planned it to be. His vaping talent prank garnered millions of views on Youtube, but his conversation with Vice Ganda triggered his real talent. He succeeded in winning the judge’s heart and made it to the semi-finals where he mimicked all the other talents in the show. Again, his semi-final performance made him a crowd favorite and proceeded to the Grand Finals.
However, Joven failed to become this season’s champion since his last performance was labeled by the judges as the “least funny” compared to all his performances. The ultimate talent was prized to Kristel de Catalina, a spiral pole dancer, who also earned a “golden buzzer” from Vice Ganda.
However, losing in the competition is not the end of Joven’s career. Right after Joven Olivido’s final performance, Vice Ganda announced publicly that he will play a role in Vice Ganda’s upcoming movie. A win-win situation for Laguna’s tricycle driver.
Vice Ganda confirmed that Olvido will be part of his movie set for release this Christmas. “Si Joven, kasama na siya sa pelikula ko ngayong Pasko. Isa na siyang ganap na artista,” he assured, “Kanina, niyakap ko siya, sabi ko, ‘Huwag ka mag-alala, magkikita pa tayo sa shooting, at saka ibibigay ko pa rin ang tricycle mo.'”
It will be a great start for Joven since Vice Ganda’s movie is always a sure box-office hit and ranked among the highest grossing Filipino films since 2011.
Vice Ganda will also become Joven’s personal mentor as a comedian.
Joven, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude with Vice Ganda. “Hindi ko maipaliwanag ang saya,” he said. “Gusto ko maiyak. Sobrang saya dahil sa kanya pa nanggaling na isasama niya ako sa pelikula niya. Lahat po ng tao, nangangarap sa ganitong pagkakataon. Isa ako sa pinaka suwerte, dahil dumating sa akin itong pagkakataon na ‘to.”
