- These Kapamilya Characters remind us why Moms are our heroes
- Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms out there!
Whether it dwells on revenge, romance, fantasy, or action, Kapamilya teleseryes always put family at the center of a lead character’s motivations – and there’s probably no other figure more prominent in the life of a ‘bida’ or ‘kontrabida’ than a devoted mother.
In time for Mother’s Day, we salute the most special women in our lives – our real-life heroes – by celebrating these fictional moms in Kapamilya teleseryes who remind us of our own.
1. Erika (“The Blood Sisters”)
Desperate to keep her son alive, Erika (Erich Gonzales) once worked many jobs at once, including being a club dancer.
She may seem sweet and fragile, but when it comes to her son, she will not hesitate to put you in your place even if you’re her own sister, just like what she did to Agatha when she unfairly scolded Jolo for his scattered toys.
2. Lila (“Bagani”)
Ever since Lakas was a kid, his mother Lila has supported his decision to become a warrior in their tribe until he became a bagani.
Lila was even ready to give up her own life just to spare Lakas from betraying Ganda and the people of Taga-Patag.
3. Janice (“Since I Found You”)
A career-driven single mom, Janice sacrifices her time for her family in order to provide for her son.
Having a man by her side is also not a priority for her, because the only inspiration she is ever going need is his son.
4. Hillary (“Asintado”)
After a miscarriage, Hillary (Agot Isidro) longed for a daughter whom she could nurture and love. When she adopted Samantha (Shaina Magdayao), the void in her heart instantly got filled with warmth as Hillary finally fulfilled her wish of becoming a mother. Even now that Samantha is all grown up, she still remains as her daughter’s number one defender.
5. Emy of “Precious Hearts Romances presents: Araw Gabi”
Even if it almost cost her life, Emy (Candy Pangilinan) abandoned her real identity as Lupe in El Paraiso and took on the responsibility of taking care of Michelle (Barbie Imperial). For 18 years now, Emy has made sure Mich would be away from danger and loved her as her own.
6. Julie of “Home Sweetie Home”
Even in the face of heartbreak, Julie (Toni Gonzaga) remained tough and positive for the sake of her daughter Summer and her family.
After being abandoned by her husband, Julie (Toni Gonzaga) did not dwell on her problems but focused on growing her new business, Walang Kapares, with her friends JP (Piolo Pascual), Lia (Ruffa Mae Quinto), and the twins Ireneo and Irenea (Ogie Alcasid).
7. Lena (“Sana Dalawa Ang Puso”)
Lena (Alma Moreno) is the quintessential “ilaw ng tahanan.” She is charming, sometimes funny, understanding, and gets things done. Amidst the troubles Mona (Jodi Sta. Maria) and her husband Ramon (Bobot Mortiz) have gotten into, Lena supports them and finds solutions to her family’s problems.
8. Lola Flora (FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano)
Life’s challenges did not weaken Lola Flora’s (Susan Roces) spirit. She has remained steadfast for her family, especially for her grandson Cardo (Coco Martin).
An endearing and pure-hearted woman, she has also welcomed people into their home and treated them like her family.
