Senate President Tito Sotto recently got involved in an issue regarding plagiarism which he seemed not to care about.
In 2012, Tito had an opportunity to have a speech about Reproductive Health Bill in front of the Senate. The speech came from parts of a written blog from a US-based blogger.
In May 2017, Tito also gave a backhanded insult towards former Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary-designate Judy Taguiwalo. He also called Judy “na-ano” as she had two children with no husband.
Netizens started to bring up Tito’s wrongdoings as a senator and a public servant. In an interview with Jessica Soho in State of the Nation in May 22, Tuesday on GMA News TV. Tito also admitted that he remains an easy target from criticism because of his fame.
“I try to stay positive as much as possible. Dito kasi sa mga namimintas, ang dami naman sa kanila wala lang magawa, e. Ba’t hindi nila tingnan ang record ko sa Senate?”
Aside from his perfect attendance, Tito remains one of the senators who had passed many laws for his two decades as a lawmaker. According to Tito himself, he had passed 160+ laws.
“Hindi lang sa perfect attendance, tingnan muna nila ilang batas na ang ipinasa ko? 160-plus na batas. Ang iniisip ko, yung inilalagay ko sa isip ko, yung 17 million Filipinos na bumoto sa akin. Hindi yung 300 na bashers o baka less pa.”
