Everyone is already hooked to ABS-CBN’s latest afternoon drama “Araw Gabi”. The series, which stars JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial together with Jane Oineza, RK Bagatsing, Vina Morales, Rita Avila, Raymond Bagatsing and Ara Mina, debuted on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold afternoon block and worldwide via The Filipino Channel on April 30, 2018 replacing “Hanggang Saan”.
It is based on the Filipino romance pocket book novel El Paraiso by writer Maribeth dela Cruz née Hamoy, also known in her pseudonym Martha Cecilia, author of best selling novel series Kristine and Sweetheart under PHR.
This marks the 18th installment of ABS-CBN’s series “Precious Hearts Romances Presents” and the first season after the show’s six year hiatus.
The story
Martha Cecilia’s novel gets a telenovela fix which revolves with the optimistic Mich, who sees a brighter future ahead despite of her hardships in life , and the CEO of Olvidar Group of Companies, Adrian, who still carry baggage from his dark past. The two developed sweet hatred for each other on their first meetings, but it became twisted when the aspiring lass discovered that the guy that she loathes is the client of their company. This will break her heart in the end—because the business proposal of her agency will be declined because of her.
However, this will not stop the sanguine from vying in her career. She follow the water to personally visit and conduct her research on Adrian’s holdings— Tranquila Resort.
Soon after setting foot on the Island of El Paradiso, both of them will be surprised that they are in the same place at the same time, which will give us the question: What wonders will this paradise offer the two of them?

Since it’s pilot episode, the series has been making our afternoons sizzling hot. It also became a daily trending topic online and has created a lot of buzz among viewers.

And the secrets surrounding his identity makes him even more interesting.

In addition to her acting, Barbie definitely fits the role of Mich/Boning as she perfectly embodies the character’s personality. Her charismatic smile is perfectly matched to her innocent yet sexy character who will make our stone-hearted Adrian melt like a butter with just one look.

2. The Hot and Daring Scenes.
I guess “Araw Gabi” can be our country’s very own “Fifty Shades of Grey”, minus the BDSM stuff. Adrian Olvidar (JM De Guzman), a top executive of a huge company who falls for Mich Verano (Barbie Imperial) an innocent young girl, is somewhat similar to Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. But “Araw Gabi” will prove to you that it’s got a lot more surprises in store for its viewers.
1. The Oozing Chemistry of JM De Guzman and Barbie Imperial.
“Araw Gabi” marks the very first project of JM De Guzman and Barbie Imperial as a pair. But despite the fact that this is their first show as a couple, and that there’s a ten year gap between the two (JM was born in 1988 and is 29 years old; Barbie was born in 1998 and is 19 years old), one can’t help but notice the oozing chemistry between the two, especially when they’re onscreen.
In one of the pilot episode’s highlights, we see Adrian and Mich meeting for the first time inside a crowded elevator where Mich was pushed back towards Adrian, she accidentally bumped into his crotch.
They perfectly matched with one another, and there’s a lot of tension going on between the two. This is very evident in another scene from the pilot as Mich tries to ask Adrian for another chance to present their pitch for his resort. One can feel the sizzling passion with those close-up shots of Adrian as gazes down at Mich, prompting him to have a change of heart and giving her another chance.
Then, there’s the beach scene in the second episode where Adrian accidentally appears before Mich naked after swimming in the sea.
