- Mickey Perz is one of the deciding facors in giving Hashtags members penalty/punishment
- The choreographer is strict on professionalism and punctuality
- He wants the all-male group, not to take the noontime show for granted
Mickey Perz, a choreographer in “It’s Showtime,” and the management decided to suspend Hashtags members from the noontime show due to lack of professionalism.
Mickey is currently handling Hashtags, Girl Trends, and the all-girl Filipino idol group MNL48. The choreographer is strict on discipline since he understands that millennials are easily lost on track.
He aims to teach these young personalities about right professionalism and good craft.
Mickey noticed that some of the Hashtags members are lacking discipline, especially on punctuality. “Punctuality is very important because they had this attitude na, ‘Ay, okay lang naman na yung blocking ko later na. Darating na lang ako later kasi mamaya pa yung blocking.’ That’s wrong,” he stated.
The kind of discipline was adapted in Star Magic rehearsals where the punishment for being late is for that person to treat everyone in Starbucks.
For Hashtags’ case, the late member will be out the whole day and will miss his chance to appear in the show. This is to remind Hashtags to not take “It’s Showtime” for granted.
“Kahit sabihin pa nila na naka-teleserye sila, Showtime is still the show that made you and at the same time ang babait ng lahat ng taga-Showtime sa inyo,” Mickey explained.
“So why aren’t you fair to them? Kumpara kung pupunta tayo sa mga taping schedules ninyo, nahihiya kayo sa director, nahihiya kayo sa staff, sa call time. Pero dito sa mismong bahay ninyo nakakalimutan ninyo na lahat ng staff are the reason why you are here now.”
Mickey Perz is not only committed to discipline these boys but also to make their group become known as one of the best dance groups in their generation. However, he admitted that he couldn’t do it alone without the group’s support.
