After his father, it’s now Diego Loyzaga’s time in the headline.
Cesar Montano’s son, Diego Loyzaga is currently making the headline for his controversial Instagram photo taken in “closed” Boracay.
On Friday, the Kapamilya actor posted an Instagram photo of him with friends tagged at Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa.
The photo quickly became viral, with many netizens alluding his privilege to his father’s connection to the government since Cesar is currently the head of Tourism Promotions Board under Dept. of Tourism.
Netizens confusion was even heightened when one netizen asked how Diego and his friend got in and his answer was they were locals.
He was also questioned whether his father has something to do with it but he denied the allegation.
But after spreading like wildfire on social media and different theories was made, Diego addressed the issue and set the record straight that the photo was, in fact, a throwback picture.
Using the same photo, Diego again took to Instagram to clarify the controversy.
Diego said he need to explain because different allegations that spread in social media aren’t true.
“Have to explain myself again on social media bcos of allegations that aren’t true 🤦♂️. These photos were taken months ago”, he wrote.
“I didnt have any bad intentions with this post. I was not exploiting Boracay in any way. I should have not added the location to avoid all this but since many people have already messaged me about there being write ups about me and my friends being able to go to Boracay even though its closed for tourists, sana maunawaan kayo sa explanation nato”, Diego added.
In the end, he said sorry to those offended and those who got confused by his post especially the locals in Boracay.
“Sorry sa mga nagalit. Although the post may come of quite obnoxious, that was not intended. Sorry especially to the people who are living in Boracay and saw this post,”
Diego also took to Twitter to let out his sentiments about the current controversy he is in.
“Post a photo with another woman, issue Post a photo of a throwback, issue Lahat issue at pinaghuhusgan How much longer can one deal with people na napakakitid ng utak. No wonder why so many people get depressed and quit showbizz cause of stupid ppl like u “, he tweeted.
“Sick of pleasing people. Seriously #keepitreal dont give a shxt about what anyone else thinks or think they know about you im gonna speak up bcos other artists cant dahil iniingatan ang image. Idc anymore. Sick of you ignorant people.”
