Mars Ravelo remains the person responsible for Filipino superheroes like Captain Barbell, Dyesebel, Lastikman and Darna. Many netizens also expressed their impatience on the upcoming Darna movie which stars Liza Soberano.
Rex Ravelo gave a statement about the said matter.
College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts students created a dance musical titled, Ding, Ang Bato! During the gala night which Rex also attended, he expressed his insight on the Darna movie being pushed back.
“Kasi nga, ang work of art needs time. So hindi natin masasabi na matagal yun na sobrang tagal, kasi kung talagang maganda lalabas ang movie I think it’s worth the wait.”
Rex also expressed his happiness on projects like the Darna movie and Ding, Ang Bato! dance musical.
“Mahirap i-describe ang nararamdaman ko ngayon. Mahirap ma-predict na magkakaroon ng ganitong musical ang Darna. It’s really big honor for the family na magkaroon ng ganito.”
It also was a hard thing for the Ravelo family to allow Benilde students on making the project as it remains close to their hearts. However, Rex shared his appreciation on the said project on portraying Ding as a deaf-mute.
“Yes, I have a mute, partially deaf nephew and I really appreciate na ginawa nila dito sa musical ang mute interpretation.”
Rex also stated how he loved the project on recognizing Ding as the lead of the musical.
“It’s about time. Kasi si Ding laging nasa background, alam naman natin na pag sinabing ‘Ding, ang bato!’ Darna na yun e, so it’s about time na ma recognize naman si Ding.”
