During the glory days of Eat Bulaga‘s Kalyeserye, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza’s character as Yaya Dub has yet to meet. At those times, social media remained bombarded with posts about AlDub.
When Alden and Maine finally met on October 25, 2015, in the Philippine Arena, fans used the hashtag #AlDubEBTamangPanahon. This became the most used hashtag on Twitter in 24 hours.
During the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, BTS fans tried to beat the title with the hashtag #iVoteBTSBBMAs. According to Guinness World Records (GWR), BTS fans didn’t beat the said title from AlDub fans.
The GWR also investigated and calculated that #AlDubEBTamangPanahon earned 40, 706, 392 uses while #iVoteBTSBBMAs garnered 21.9 million uses.
The GWR also posted a tweet regarding the said attempt. They apologized to the K-Pop group’s fans for the unsuccessful attempt on the occasion.
