- ABS-CBN’s One Music PH enters 2nd Year with more digital concerts, new pinoy talents
- One Music artists Volts, Unit 406 crack into mainstream
For ABS-CBN’s music portal One Music PH, connecting the brightest Filipino artists and their fans in the digital world is serious business.
This year, it continues its landmark digital concert series – an intimate website special that allows artists to interact with their fans all over the world while performing.
Opening this year’s run is OPM great Ebe Dancel, who will stage his first-ever digital concert called “Ebe Dancel: Atin Ang Gabi” on May 13, followed by Tarsier Records artists in July, Silent Sanctuary and Agsunta in September, One Music artists Volts Vallejo and Unit 406 in October, and an explosive flip top battle in November.
One Music’s digital concert series kicked off in June 2016 with Yeng Constantino, who celebrated her tenth anniversary in the music industry and performed her greatest hits on the One Music stage.
Since then, KZ Tandingan, Janella Salvador, Inigo Pascual, Darren Espanto, Ylona Garcia, The Dawn, and the quartet of Loisa Andalio, Maris Racal, Sue Ramirez, and Kristel Fulgar have followed suit, each coming out with a different set, theme, and special guests.
What makes One Music digital concerts even more fun and engaging is that they can be watched in all angles with their multi-camera setup. Fans may also interact and request songs for their idols to perform live through any mobile device or desktop computer.
“Music is part of everyday life; in fact, for many, it is life. Hence, One Music is not just an online platform but a community that enriches music discovery,” said Joy Mesina, One Music PH’s editor-in-chief.
Not only does One Music PH give the spotlight to the country’s most popular artists, but also to emerging new voices through its Be Discovered feature, which gives aspiring musicians a crack at stardom by allowing them to upload their work on the website.
The first Be Discovered artist to make a crack in the industry is Volts Vallejo, the first-ever artist to have signed with One Music PH’s own record label and had contributed to the Star Cinema hit “Vince and Kath and James’” official soundtrack.
Unit 406, a band with a refreshing rock sound and also One Music PH’s second contract artist, is also starting to make waves after they interpreted a P-Pop Himig Handog song last year and released “Mandirigma,” which is part of the soundtrack of ABS-CBN’s newest fantaserye “Bagani.”
One Music PH’s Be Discovered feature has also gone beyond digital, with a campus tour that targets different colleges and universities in Metro Manila and aims to discover artists who will represent each campus.
The campus tour, which kicked off at the University of Sto. Tomas in November 2017 and University of the Philippines Diliman last February 17, will continue with legs in Lyceum University of Manila, Adamson University, STI College, De La Salle University.
Music fans also tune in weekly to the live online show “One Music POPSSSS,” whose current and fourth season is hosted by Inigo Pascual, Maris Racal, and J Roa. It airs on One Music PH’s YouTube and Facebook pages and features musical guests and exclusive performances.
One Music PH, which also offers audio and video streaming and music news, is only one of the digital initiatives of ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company, which is rapidly transitioning into an agile digital company with the biggest online presence among all media companies, and a growing list of digital properties.
