- The FAMAS Awards has recently announced their list of nominees.
- This became a hot topic online as a columnist questioned the decision of the jury of choosing Vice Ganda as one of the nominees, claiming other actors deserved it more than him.
The oldest award-giving body—Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (also known as FAMAS Awards) has recently announced their list of nominees for the upcoming ‘Gabi ng Parangal’ this coming June 10.
Their announcement of nominees was objected by an entertainment columnist and radio host named Gorly Rula through an article on PEP.ph.
The said columnist questioned the decision of the jury of choosing Vice Ganda for the Dolphy Lifetime Achievement Award, saying, “Bakit hindi muna si Vic Sotto na mas marami nang na-achieve kesa kay Vice kahit consistent siyang box-office winner at most bankable star? Meron pa ngang Joey de Leon. Dahil ba sa ABS-CBN ang airing?”
The columnist’s disapproval of the jury’s decision caused the Unkabogable comedian to be emotional as he got offended by the remarks made against him.
This led to the comedian posting a series of tweets expressing his sentiments over the matter, stating, “Gorgy Rula di ko po kayo kilala at di ko po alam ang mga napatunayan niyo sa buhay kaya di ko din po alam kung bakit masyado kang apektado at di niyo po kayang irespeto ang FAMAS, ang mga tao sa likod nito at ang kanilang desisyon.”
