- Eric Eruption Tai disappeared after leaving “It’s Showtime”
- He and his wife joined the Amazing Race Aisa and won the 3rd place
- He is now back on TV being one of the “Bagani” family
You might’ve already forgotten about the biggest man in “It’s Showtime” since 2016. Eric ‘Eruption’ Tai, a professional rugby player and the Filipino version of Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, disappeared after the noontime show made a reorganization.
So, what happened to our favorite giant?
After being a host in “It’s Showtime,” Eruption and his wife joined the reality TV show “Amazing Race Asia” and won third place. “We came third (place), which is a very big accomplishment sa’min kasi bihira ‘yung mga mag-asawa na mag-reality TV show ng gano’n so we are really proud of that,” he said.
After winning the race, Eruption focused on his own business although he still received several hostings on events. He is trying to stay in the limelight and get as much exposure as he can in order to maintain his showbiz career. He knows his time will come soon. And, it did.
Last 2017, Eric ‘Eruption’ Tai appeared in ABS-CBN’s primetime series, “La Luna Sangre,” starred by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. When the series ended, Tai did not take a break. He also became a part of the “Bagani” cast featuring Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano. If you noticed that big giant who attacked the Baganis when they were still working together, you now know who that is.
Eruption believes that you have to give your heart out in everything you do, “Ang isang natutunan na bagay na napakaimportante sa akin is that whenever you’re given a chance to get a role, do the best you can. You work your butt off. You do all that you can to get that.”
After his giant role was defeated in Bagani, the director of Bagani, Lester Pimentel, noticed the potential of Tai in action scenes and recruited him again as one of the “Tulisan” on the story. The “Tulisan” are pirates who found “Lakas” and adopted him as one of their own.
Check out Eric ‘Eruption’ Tai in “Bagani” every weekday on ABS-CBN primetime series after “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
