- ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida fantaserye “Bagani” is being rumored to end sooner than expected.
- “Bagani” comfortably led the competition on its pilot episode on AGB Nielsen NUTAM and Kantar Media
- Latest ratings show “Bagani” left behind by “Kambal Karibal” on AGB Nielsen NUTAM, still leading in Kantar Media
Controversies are eating ABS-CBN’s prime time fantaserye “Bagani.” After the issue with CHED and some indigenous tribes, “Bagani” is now being rumored to be shortened due to ailing ratings.
Known for spreading unverified scoops on Twitter, Entertainment Uptake shared, “SIZZLING SCOOP: Because of continued decline in viewership nationwide, Bagani is now shortened; will be wrapping up sooner than originally planned. Meanwhile, Kambal Karibal receives another well-deserved extension because of impeccable ratings.”
Topbilled by Liza Soberano, Matteo Guidicelli, Sofia Andres, Makisig Morales, and Enrique Gil, “Bagani” follows the journey of Lakas from the desert region, Ganda from the farm region, Lakam from the trade region, Dumakulem from the forest region, and Mayari from the sea region, normal individuals suddenly turned heroes of Sansinukob.
Just this week, two major characters bid goodbye on the show – Mayari (Sofia) and Ganda (Liza). The two sacrificed their lives to protect the sea region from Sarimaw’s (Ryan Eigenmann) wrath.
“Bagani” writer Mark Duane Angos aired his sentiments on Twitter. On Friday (April 6) afternoon he posted, “Wag maniwala sa sabi-sabi. Pilit na pinapaiksi at pinapatapos ng kalaban. Tulad ni Sarimaw, na nais tapusin ang mga Bagani para maghari ang ka-chakahan. Don’t miss tonight’s #BAGANIUbusan at simula pa lang ito ng mahaba at masalimuot na kwento ng kabayanihan.”
The big-budgeted Kapamilya fantaserye began airing last March 5. Using the usual count for 1 season of teleseryes for prime time, “Bagani” will end on May 25 (with 12 weeks or 60 episodes). Let’s see if this is just a one-season-series or it will be extended like “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “The Good Son.”
