- GMA Network is offering another apocalyptic-themed series on GMA Telebabad titled “The Cure”
- “The Cure” was first announced during GMA Network’s New Year’s Countdown five years ago
- “The Cure” will begin its journey on Philippine TV beginning April 30
“Garantisado po na mapupusuan ito ng mga Manilenyo hanggang mga Probinsyano!” That’s how Director Mark Reyes opened his speech at the press conference held at Le Reve Events Place, Quezon City on April 17.
GMA Network’s “The Cure” will finally air its first episode on April 30 on GMA Telebabad but there’s no assurance yet if it will serve as a replacement to “Sherlock Jr.’s” timeslot to compete with “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” or on the second slot to go head-to-head with “Bagani.”
“We are floating, I didn’t know where we will be placed. I know it’s going to be prime-time so I don’t know where. I think we’re gonna be in the early slot, I don’t think we will be in the third slot. Yung mga ganitong show, usually first o second,” Direk Mark Reyes said during the presscon of “The Cure.”
But either first or second slot, the Kapuso director shared that they’re ready for the competition. “Di ko pa alam kung anong slot but I’m ready for either the Probinsyano or the Bagani, bring it on!”
When asked by PEP.ph about the pressure of competing once again with “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” the Kapuso director answered, “Oh yeah, oh yeah. But it’s the same team that beat them, it’s the same team behind Encantadia, so I’m ready for the fight. I’m kidding. But yeah, they need competition, di ba?”
