- Aurora Media and ABS-CBN in partnership to film “Eerie”
- Gin Kai Chan, Aurora Media representative, believes that ABS-CBN is the right partner in making the film
- Charo Santos and Bea Alonzo will play roles in the horror movie
Aurora Media, Singaporean Entertainment and ABS-CBN are now in partnership to produce a horror film titled “Eerie” starring Charo Santos and Bea Alonzo.
Gin Kai Chan represented Aurora Media during the contract signing. Both parties believe that this collaboration will showcase a captivating theme that will easily catch the attention of international audiences.
Audiences today are more focused on the story as compared to the past few years where people only watch the film if the artists are popular. Chan believed that the most important thing for audiences is that they understand the story, and they would watch it whatever language it is as long as there are subtitles.
“The world is now more open to seeing subtitles on a film. I don’t see it anymore as to whether this is Filipino film, or a Thai film, or a Korean film. For example, Korea has shown that even if you don’t understand Korean, if it is a good film, if it is well-made, if the story is strong, the acting is great, then it is exportable,” Chan explained.
Chan also took the opportunity to partner with ABS-CBN since they make the highest grossing films in the Philippines today. Just last year, ABS-CBN movies generated an impressive $9.7 million from the international box office and P2.4 billion in the Philippines.
Chan said “Eerie” won’t be the last collaboration of Aurora Media with ABS-CBN. There is still no news on which country the movie “Eerie” will be launched first, but Chan wants to prioritize the Philippines – being the world’s leading movie lovers and social media users.
