Derrick Monasterio and Barbie Forteza star in “Almost A Love Story” which will be in cinemas on April 11, Wednesday. Derrick and Barbie also already worked in 2012 “Luna Blanca,” 2012 “Paroa: Ang Kwento ni Mariposa,” 2013 “Anna Karenina” and 2014 “The Half Sisters.”
The said movie also became DerBie’s first movie after three years.
Derrick spoke about their reunion. The DerBie fan accounts suddenly started popping up again.
“Yung mga hindi ko na nakikita na Instagram fan account dati, nakikita ko na bigla ngayon. Happy sila!”
Derrick shared that producers came up of the DerBie reunion project. He mentioned that he already felt comfortable with Barbie.
“Yung mga producer, kasi parang may mga pinagpilian din talaga. Pero naisip nila na mas matagal kami nagkasama ni Barbie, mas comfortable na kami sa isa’t isa. Pero si Barbie, siya na talaga yung girl.”
Derrick shared that Barbie had observed his crotch area during one scene.
“May sinasabi siya sa akin, e. Nako-conscious ako pag sinasabi niya. Bumubukol daw!”
Derrick continued that his pants felt loose at that time.
“Yung isang scene doon, I was swimming and then wala kasi akong belt. E, sobrang luwag ng pants ko so kailangan ko siyang hawakan all the time kasi mahuhulog pag hindi.”
Derrick shared that Director Louie Ignacio suggested removing his underwear for the scene. He added that it felt uncomfortable as his member rubs against the denim.
“E, pinatanggal ni Direk yung underwear ko, ewan ko kung bakit, siguro conflict sa endorsement, so tinanggal namin. Parang nakaka-conscious lang kasi pagkatapos ng pants, yun na agad, tapos basa pa.”
Derrick explained that he didn’t have any wardrobe malfunction during the scene.
“Hindi naman. Nasa ilalim ako ng tubig, nahuhubaran ako pero inaangat ko uli, okay na Direk. Siguro kung yung mga tao doon, nakitaan na nila ako dun pero sa screen hindi naman.”
Derrick admitted that he didn’t feel uncomfortable or awkward with the scenes which involved his body.
“Normal naman siya kasi natural naman, binigay ni Lord!”
