News suddenly broke out that director Cathy Garcia-Molina didn’t want to work with real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre. Direk Antoinette Jadaone’s blog post about delayed shoots became the reason behind Direk Cathy’s refusal.
Direk Antoinette also texted Nadine at the time.
In an uploaded video from MJ Felipe’s Twitter, Direk Antoinette shared that she couldn’t direct properly at the time.
“Ang ginawa ko nung lumabas ‘yun, kinausap ko agad si Nadine. ‘Yun yung first instinct ko. Actually nasa soap pa ako nun, eh, nagdidirect pa ako. Ta’s di ako makapag-direct. ‘Hala, kailangan ko makausap si bakla.’ So, tinext ko siya: ‘Teh, may ginagawa ka ba? Tawagan kita.’ Sabi niya, ‘Ay, direk nasa shoot ako.’ So, minessage ko siya after.”
Direk Antoinette believed that the first rumor will be the most believable one to others. She shared that she has a good relationship with James and Nadine.
“Dapat ganun kasi, eh. ‘Pag mauunahan ka ng sinasabi ng iba, baka may tendency na ‘yun yung papakinggan mo. So para sa akin, as long as okay kayo, ‘yun yung okay… Okay kami. Sa part namin, okay kami.”
When it comes to professionalism, Direk Antoinette revealed that she had a conversation with James and Nadine where they raised their issues in order to do better.
“Actually, naging okay naman na after, eh, kasi nakapag-usap kami… ‘Di ko alam kung nabalita ‘yun, pero nag-usap kaming tatlo. So yun, nag-air kami kung anong issue with the resolve to do better.”
