- The biggest “Star Hunt” in Metro Manila happened on April 20 and 21
- The management is looking for an aspiring artist that has a unique personality
- Lauren Dyogi advised everyone to remain true to yourself
The April 20 and 21 Star Hunt, the greatest Star Search in the year so far, has caught the attention of all ages from teenagers to professional adults.
During the first year of Star Hunt, at the kids and teenagers audition, Araneta Coliseum was flocked by aspiring artists that the management was forced to cut the line. The audition has tallied over 10,000 participants for just a single day, and the queue went over the Farmers Market building.
Some of these aspiring artists are already there since morning on April 19, Thursday. They are hoping the earlier they are the higher chance they’d be able to showcase their talent to the judges.
The “Star Hunt” consists of many ABS-CBN talents shows such as I Can See Your Voice, Tawag ng Tanghalan, The Voice of the Philippines, Dance Kids, Little Big Shots, Pilipinas Got Talent, reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother, as well as having the chance to share their unique storing in Maalala Mo Kaya.
So, what does it take to become a Star?
Lauren Dyogi, director of Pinoy Big Brother, revealed the specific requirement they need for a star. That would be a “unique personality.”
He made an example of the previous stars they got from these talent search, and eventually became successful celebrities today. “Nung nahanap namin si Kim Chiu, kung titignan mo siya ‘nung nag-audition siya, hindi siya mukhang magiging malaking artista. Maymay (Entrata) is also [one]. Melai (Cantiveros) is not your typical star, ‘di ba? Pero sila ‘yung minahal ng tao. Ang hinahanap namin, siyempre TV ‘to eh, ‘yung masarap panoorin sa TV.”
He also added that he is only looking at one angle in judging a unique personality, “‘Yung authentic. Kasi ‘pag reality show ‘yan, ayaw pa natin ‘nung umaarte.” He is obviously very specific to the reality show PBB.
Director Lauren concludes, ““You don’t really have to prepare for it because if you have the potential, we will be able to spot that. We will be able to see that and we will help you grow your potential and make you learn more skills so that hopefully, you become a star.”
