In a recent It’s Showtime episode, Vice Ganda described a Tawag ng Tanghalan Visayas contender as an Alden Richards lookalike. The said Visayas contender named Reggie Tortugo performed his own rendition of Bruno Mars’ Locked Out of Heaven.
Vice and Vhong Navarro interviewed Reggie after his performance. However, they teased him for having too little movements.
Vice also chided at Reggie and told him Bruno Mars would dance a lot.
“Ang tipid-tipid mong gumalaw… Mas sumasayaw pa yung mga hurado sa iyo. Si Bruno Mars…”
They asked Reggie to sing again. However, they also requested for him to add more dance moves. Reggie obliged and did what Vice and Vhong would tell him. The comedians also encouraged the contestant to loosen up on stage. Vhong, then, asked Reggie:
“Nahihiya ka ba?”
Which Reggie, then, answered:
“Medyo po.”
Vice also quipped his own response.
“Sana hindi ka sumali.”
He then continued to give and advise to the shy contender:
“Kung ganyan ang talent mo, huwag kang mahiya. Kailangan may Pia Wurtzbach-confidently beautiful.”
Vice also told Reggie that he has good looks and that he looks like a Kapuso actor and host from the counterpart show, Eat Bulaga.
“Cute ka pa man din. Meron kang Alden na itsura.”
Vhong also agreed and pointed out Reggie’s dimple. Although, Vice teased Reggie that he also looks like Julius Babao.
“May Alden pero ‘pag buo, Julius Babao.”
In Early March, It’s Showtime hosts had already mentioned Alden and Maine Mendoza’s name on two separate occasions. Maine and Alden’s AlDub love team was conceived in Eat Bulaga. However, their love team was mentioned during their rival show, It’s Showtime in March 7, Wednesday.
During their Taga Saan Ka? segment, hosts chose members from the audience to perform the dance for a cash prize. Vhong and Billy Crawford welcomed a contestant named Maine. Billy then told Vhong:
“Eksakto, Kuys! May bumisita sa atin, si Maine!”
Vice Ganda, who became friends with Maine during a night out, also welcomed Maine in the show.
“Welcome to Showtime, Maine!”
Amy Perez laughed and exclaimed how cute the encounter is. Karylle also welcomed the contestant on the show. Karylle continued to quip:
“O, ito na, first time niya sa Showtime!”
Billy asked the contestant:
“First time mo, Maine? O, Maine, welcome!”
Vhong created a punchline which made everyone laugh out loud.
“O, kamustahin mo naman si Alden!”
Billy laughed, he exclaimed:
“Hindi, ibang Maine ‘yon!”
The earlier encounter wasn’t the first time that their love team was mentioned. Just five days ago, March 2, Friday, Vice complained over his love life during the Tawag ng Tanghalan statement. However, Vhong told Vice that he believes that the man of his dreams will come in “tamang panahon.”
Vice responded with:
“Tamang panahon, parang AlDub lang?”
