After nine years of working with GMA Network, Ryan Eigenmann finally returns to ABS-CBN Corporation. During the press conference of the new epicserye Bagani in Dolphy Theater on March 15, Thursday, Ryan revealed his reason why he returned to the said network.
In the said epicserye, he plays Sarimaw who also watches over the town of Sansinukob.
In the said press conference, Ryan received a question why he returned to ABS-CBN Corporation. He explained that he remains under a contract for a while.
“It was 9 years ago when I last did a show with ABS and nagdire-diretso ako sa GMA. I was under contract for a while. So ngayon, my contract expired last March last year. And, then they decided not to renew so ito na naman ako, back to freelancing.”
The recently concluded afternoon drama series Impostora became his last projects with GMA Network. Meanwhile, the 2009 weekend series Tiagong Akyat became his last projects with ABS-CBN Corporation. However, the 2008 fantasy series Lobo became his last television series with the Kapamilya network. Lobo has the same production unit as his new series, Bagani.
Ryan revealed that he currently had fun experiences with the network.
“It’s been fun. It’s been a lot of fun. I love these guys!”
However, Ryan was also apprehensive at first for it had been a long time since he had worked with the Kapamilya network.
“Pero siyempre, nandoon yung apprehension, not working for a network for nine years. Pagbalik ko dun, will it be as comfortable as I am here (in GMA). But you know, it was all unfounded worry kasi first day ko pa lang, all of these guys, sila mismo yung lumapit, nagpakilala, they made me feel welcome. Walang issues or whatsoever, it was an easy transition.”
Ryan joined the 1998 youth-oriented series Growing Up which became the series of the phenomenal teen show TGIS. He also acted as a child star with Princess Punzalan and Helen Vela in the early 90’s situational comedy, Family 3+1.
