Theater and film actor RS Francisco remains open that he has a huge crush on Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia. In an interview with PUSH.com, he actually requested someone to personally introduce them. He shared his story on why he admires the young actor. He also told PUSH.com about his encounter with Joshua.
In the said interview, RS compared him with another Kapamilya actor, John Lloyd Cruz. He sustained that he rarely watches television but he loved Joshua’s acting. However, RS felt bad that he didn’t get an opportunity to Love You To The Stars and Back.
“Ipakilala mo naman ako sa kanya personally. Gusto ko siyang makilala… Nag-start yung admiration ko sa kanya sa TV. I rarely watch TV, yon talaga, pero sa mga time na nakikita ko siya sa TV, parang ‘Ang galing-galing umarte nito.’ Talagang parang John Lloyd talaga ito. I felt bad nga kasi yung Love You (To The Stars and Back), I missed that, eh. Kasi that time, nung palabas yon, I think I was out of the country, eh… “
RS shared that he thinks Joshua has all the potentials. He also added that Joshua’s talent drew him to the young actor. He said that Joshua’s appearance can be categorized as handsome in every country. However, when RS saw him during the PMPC Star Awards, he felt shy.
“Alam mo, even before I saw him, ang dami ng nagsasabi na yung Joshua parang John Lloyd yan in the making. Parang he has all the potentials, so tumatak lang sa akin yon. So when I saw him on TV, ‘Wow, ito ba yung Joshua, cute. Meron siya talagang ano… may dating. I mean, universal yung itsura niya. Hindi chinito, hindi ganito. So nung nakita ko siya personally sa Star Award for the first time, siyempre nahiya ako”
RS also shared that he lost the opportunity of meeting and taking a photo with Joshua during the said awarding ceremony.
“Nahiya na talaga ako. Tsaka baka kung anong isipin, di ba? Kung alam ko lang na katabi mo siya, sana umetchos-etchos na ako. Sayang, hindi ko kasi alam.”
RS won as the Best Actor for his movie, Bhoy Intsik. During his acceptance speech, he also announced his crush on Joshua. He then acknowledged Joshua’s girlfriend, Julia Barretto’s reaction to his speech.
“Kaya pala ganun ang reaksyon ni Julia. Wala naman kasi akong idea na sila pala. Sana hindi siya nagalit sa akin, crush ko lang naman yung jowa niya”
RS hoped that he could get an opportunity to work with Joshua. However, RS would like it better if he could work with the young actor in a play.
“Oo, ideally. Pero mas maganda sana kung sa play ko siya makatrabaho. In fact, yon nga ang iniisip ko sa play na gagawin ko, wala kami kasing role na pupuwede sa kanya. Iniisip ko, saan ko puwedeng isaksak si Joshua dito sa M Butterfly, kaso wala talagang role para sa teenager na guwapo kasi lahat medyo 40s na. Isa lang ang 20s pero babae ang kailangan, so hindi talaga puwede.”
