In the said blog conference, Pia admitted that she felt like she had achieved her childhood dreams.
“I am so glad that I am finally having my moment with showbiz here at ABS. Parang finally I’m able to do what I’ve always wanted since I was a kid.”
Before she even became Miss Universe, Pia already starred in movies and television series as a supporting actress. However, she never received an opportunity as a lead.
““I’m just grateful. “Tuwing nakikita ko yung poster, yung billboard, talagang sabi ko, ‘Guys, I never thought that I would see myself up there.’ I never thought that I’d see myself sa office ng Star Cinema na may malaking poster!””
Pia expressed her gratitude that Star Cinema had given her an opportunity and felt like she had come at full circle. She also felt like everything came in the right time. Pia added that she feels like she’s a newbie and newly released actress. She also acknowledged that she came from Star Circle Batch 11 in 2002.
“I’m very grateful that I was given this opportunity. I feel like everything is coming to full circle. Na parang tama lang na hindi ako sumikat pa dati. Tama lang naman na natalo ako sa Binibini, ‘tapos nanalo ako sa Miss Universe. Kasi, parang lahat naman yun, everything falls into place naman. Now, I’m finally able to do this naman. Feeling ko nga, bagong launch ako ng bagets na artista. Parang kasabay ko yung Star Magic Batch 18, parang I’m one of them.”
Pia revealed that when she thought she didn’t win Miss Universe 2015, she immediately taught of going back to ABS-CBN. She also added that ABS-CBN has always been there for her.
“Laging naiisip ko, balik kaya ako sa ABS. Parang ABS will always be there. I can always go back, yung confidence ko talaga na babalik ako sa ABS… I even remember, nung tinawag akong first runner-up, akala ko first runner-up na ako, si Colombia na-crown na. Noong naglalakad na ako papunta sa likod, may bouquet na ako ng flowers, nasa likod na ako.”
Pia, then, mentioned that she could always go back ABS-CBN.
“I remember vividly as I was walking by, ang naisip ko talaga, ‘Siguro naman puwede na akong bumalik sa ABS nito, di ba? ‘First runner-up naman. Okay na ‘to, malapit na, e,’ sabi ko. ABS talaga ang una kong naisip, talagang mag-aartista ako after nito. Nakita na nila ako sa TV ulit. Parang, ‘Payat na ako. Pasok na.’ Parang yun talaga ang naiisip ko. ‘Tapos biglang winner pala. Sabi ko, ‘Ah okay, one more year.'”
