During the press conference of My Perfect You, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach expressed her happiness at the upcoming Binibining Pilipinas 2018. She also mentioned how the said pageant will experience upgrades.
She, then, added that she now has more time to follow events during Binibining Pilipinas.
In the said conference, Pia shared that she is happy on the Binibining Pilipinas’ upgrade.
“Ngayon, mas may time akong mag-follow. Natutuwa ako na sobrang nag-upgrade na talaga ang Binibining Pilipinas.”
Pia acknowledged that a candidate can now decide on the gown they would wear during the pageant.
“Puwede nang magsariling gown, na dati hindi puwede. Ang ganda na rin ng mga swimsuits nila, ang ganda ng mga photo shoots nila, nagpo-photo shoots na sila ng out-of-town. Natutuwa naman ako na umiikot yung mga girls.”
Pia also recognized that every year, candidates get more and more beautiful and deserving of a crown.
“I keep saying this every year, ‘Bakit every year, ang daming magaganda talaga?’ Parang kulang pa nga yung mga crowns para dun sa mga girls.”
Miss World Philippines, Catriona Gray and volleyball star, Michele Gumabao are two of the noisy names in Binibining Pilipinas. Pia also thinks that they both remain strong candidates. She remains affirmative that it will only be a matter of which title they will get.
“It’s just a matter of what title they’re gonna get. But definitely, they’re very strong candidates, I know that. And I know that they will do very well.”
Meanwhile, Binibining Pilipinas will have its coronation night on March 18, Sunday, however, Pia has one wish to whoever receives Miss Universe.
“And I know that they will do very well. Last na request na lang din siguro ng taong-bayan, sana makakita naman tayo ng mga bagong crowns this year. When I mean crowns, literally the crown. Maybe it’s time to upgrade the crown.”
