Bianca Umali celebrated her 18th birthday on March 17, Saturday at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City. Recently, her escort and onscreen partner, Miguel Tanfelix, formally asked her to be his girlfriend.
Between the 18 Treasures and 18 Candles segments, Miguel stood up and made a speech. Then, he called Bianca his best friend and soulmate.
In the said speech, Miguel stated that finally, he can now say what he had been wanting to say for a long time.
“Sobrang bilis lang ng panahon na hindi ko ine-expect, ang daming nangyari, and now eighteen years old ka na. Finally, puwede ko nang sabihin sa ‘yo yung matagal ko nang gustong sabihin.”
Miguel also turned to Bianca’s grandmother, Lola Victorina, for permission and expressed that he would formally woo Bianca and her family.
“Mama Vicky, ngayong eighteen na po si Bianca, hihingin ko po sana yung permiso niyo… Puwede ko po bang i-express kung ano po yung nararamdaman ko para sa magandang dalaga dito? Andito pala yung buong angkan nila. Manliligaw pa lang naman po ako kay Bianca, especially sa inyo, kailangan ko pa pong kunin yung loob niyo.”
Turning to Bianca once again, Miguel expressed his feelings to the young actress, he also added that he knows that Bianca would receive more opportunities and projects as she grows older.
“Since day one, kahit sinusungitan mo ‘ko, gusto kong malaman mo na yung support ko sa ‘yo, hindi mawawala yun. Puwede kong sabihin na forever akong nasa tabi mo kung kailangan mo ng kausap. Kapag may problema ka, lagi akong nandito. Ngayong eighteen ka na, alam kong maraming opportunities na darating sa ‘yo. I wish na maging responsible ka sa mga decisions na gagawin mo sa buhay and nandito lang kami.”
Lola Victorina told Miguel that the right time will come for them to become an official couple. As of now, they are both still young.
“Hinay-hinay lang, dadating din ang tamang panahon.”
