- Jeric Medina discredited members of Filipino band, Freestyle.
- He wrote that they only became famous because of Jinky Vidal.
- Black Cows’ drummer, Gibson Viduya, called him out on Facebook.
Jeric Medina recently took to Twitter to express that the Filipino band, Freestyle, only went famous because of Jinky Vidal.
Many, then, called him out on social media on claiming that only one person deserves all the credit for the success of the band. Jeric rose to fame when he joined X Factor Philippines in 2012.
In the said tweet, Jeric wrote:
“Freestyle is FreeSHIT without @JinkyVidal. She’s the ONLY reason they ever got famous.
Can’t wait for the day they just stop and not ruin music anymore.
Mediocracy is real.”
Pinoy band Black Cows’ drummer, Gibson Viduya called him out on Facebook. He stated Top Suzara wrote the songs that eventually made Jinky famous. He demanded Jeric to set his facts. Gibson also continued that Freestyle won’t be the band they remain to be without the efforts of all the members, former or new.
“C’mon man! Wag ganun.. Top Chris P. Suzara wrote the songs which made Jinky aand the rest of Freestyle famous. And Freestyle won’t be Freestyle without the efforts of the rest of the band! Get your freekin facts right!! I’ll be watching you grow up kid! This is just WRONG..”
Jeric deleted the earlier tweet and released an apology. He also referenced that ASAPinoy recently gave a tribute to Freestyle. He just wanted to lift Jinky on a pedestal.
“I’m sorry my emotions got the best of me. With the recent tribute to Freestyle, I wanted to lift Jinky up on a pedestal. She’s one of the most passionate singers out there and she deserves all the credit.
I’m sorry to those I have offended. I’m sorry to Freestyle & their fans.”
In 2016, Freestyle’s former vocalist, Top admitted that he left the band in 2005 because of a tiff with Jinky who had married his cousin and lead guitarist of the band, Tat Suzara.
Jinky and Top resolved their differences in 2012.
