In a report from The Philippine Star, editor Ricky Lo wrote and claimed that Darna had already been shelved. However, Star Cinema denied said claims.
The highly anticipated movie adaptation has yet to have its airing date. The film outfit responsible for Darna also added that the production remains in full swing.
Star Cinema AdProm Head Mico del Rosario said on Instagram, “THIS IS NOT TRUE. Spoken already to Tito Ricky Lo and clarify that DARNA has already started shooting. Tuloy na tuloy po ang Darna.”
After the news came out that Liza Soberano is starring as the super-heroine, she has been undergoing intensive physical training.
She has also gone to the gym regularly for the preparation for her role as Ganda in epicserye, Bagani. She also added that she would want to look physically strong. The young actress continued that she would like to do her own stunts.
To LizQuen fans’ dismay, Enrique Gil will be excluded from this version of Darna. Enrique, himself, shared that they had a meeting with the management.
However, they decided to exclude him from the long list of cast. In an interview with PUSH.com, he stated the said confirmation.
“Wala na ako sa Darna. Well, nag-meeting kami, wala na ako sa Darna. It’s final.”
Although, fans can still enjoy Liza and Enrique’s love story as Lakas and Ganda in ABS-CBN’s Bagani. In an earlier report, Liza revealed her secrets on preparing for Bagani.
“We had wushu training. At the same time I was working out. I was going to the gym regularly so that helped also.”
