Ian Veneracion won the Best Actor in the 38th Oporto International Film Festival in Portugal for the horror film, Ilawod. Atty. Joji Alonso expressed her delight through a Facebook post.
Director Dan Villegas who represented Ian, posted a photo on Instagram.
In Atty. Joji’s post, she acknowledged how Ian remains an underrated actor and added that his good looks may be overshadowing his talent. She also expressed her happiness on Ian’s success for winning the category. Atty. Joji continued to congratulate Direk Dan for his exceptional gift in helming a film.
“Ian Veneracion is such an underrated actor. Maybe, in that regard, his good looks work to a disadvantage. But the 38th Edition of the Oporto International Film Festival in Portugal saw beyond that and has awarded him the Best Actor plum for 2018. I am so happy for his victory as lead actor in our film Ilawod, which for me, is his best acting piece, to date.”
