In a video from PEP.ph, Kristoffer Martin revealed why being friends with Alden Richards remain challenging. He shared how his mother got involved in one of the issues regarding the famous AlDub love team. He considered whether issues like this affect his friendship with Alden or not.
Kristoffer would also receive harsh insults from Alden and Maine Mendoza’s fans on social media. However, he learned how to ignore and live with it. He just accepted what insult they threw at him. Kristoffer added that just because Alden has aggressive fans, he would not be his friend anymore.
“Tas biglang ang daming mga nagti-tweet sa’yo. Ganito, ganito, ganito. ‘Nung unang unang una, as in mula lang talaga nung pumatok. Mahirap… Parang ang hirap maging malaya bilang kaibigan. Pero ngayon nga, nasanay na kami. Nasanay na, tanggap na lang. Atsaka ‘di naman ibig sabihin na ganyang may mga fans silang aggresive… ibig sabihin ‘di na kami pwedeng maging magkaibigan.”
Kristoffer also revealed that they would go hiking with their circle of friends which consists of Alden, Kristoffer, Rodjun Cruz and Bea Binene. Whenever they would go and hang out, they would also feel restricted of posting photos with each other.
“Kumbaga, ang dami rin naming kaibigan. ‘Yung circle namin: Alden, Rodjun, ako… Bea. Apat kami. Naghi-hiking pa po kami. ‘Yun lang, minsan mare-restrict kaming mag-post kasi baka may masabing masama yung tao. Kumbaga, sa aming circle of friends namin, ano nalang, mas maganda nang tayo-tayo nalang may alam. ‘Wag na tayong mag-post… Mas maganda nang lumalabas ng tahimik…”
Kristoffer also revealed how Alden would remain apologetic when they get involved in issues. Alden would advise them not to post anymore when they hang out. He insisted that Alden remains concerned towards his friends and innocent people who get involved.
“Humihingi siya ng pasensya, eh. Humihingi siya ng pasensya. Siya na rin nagsasabing ‘wag nalang kayong mag-post regarding sa mga labas, sa mga lakad… Kasi sorbang concerned din niya, eh.”
He recounted that his mother got involved one time. Kristoffer confirmed that someone made a fake account with his mother’s photo as the profile picture. The said fake account had left negative and harsh comments about the AlDub love team.
“Umabot na sa point na nadamay nanay ko, eh. Eh, yung mommy ko, ‘di siya sanay. Parang si mommy, one day, tumawag siya sa akin. Anak, ano ‘tong blah blah blah. Kasi may gumawa ng fake account na tinitira si mama sa love team nila. Pero, hindi si mommy, iba ‘yung name pero picture ni mommy yung gamit… Grabe, may ganun pala talagang tao… Sabi ko kay mama, hayaan nalang natin, wala naman ‘yan, hayaan na natin yung mga tao.”
Although Kristoffer’s mother experienced something rather harsh, he persisted that this will not affect his friendship with Alden.
“No, no, no. Hindi, hindi. Labas ‘yun. Kumbaga sa amin kasi, hiwalay ang trabaho sa personal naming buhay. Kumbaga, andyan kami bilang kaibigan, para sa isa’t isa.”
