In the recent Thanksgiving Media Conference, Dina Bonnevie, Pilar Pilapil and Tessie Tomas opened up about their comeback in Kapamilya teleseryes.
They all star in the drama-action series, The Blood Sisters, marking their comebacks.
Dreamscape remains the unit which helms the said series. Dreamscape Entertainment Head Deo Endrinal initiated the creation of said show that could be similar in 1999 TV series, Saan Ka Man Naroroon. He also served as one of the series’ creative consultants.
Dina opened up that she worked with Erich Gonzales before in Two Wives. She added that she supposed to have a series after that.
“For quite a while, parang ‘di yata ako nag-Dreamscape. Pero I worked na with Erich in Two Wives. Although, I played her mom for the last two weeks, noh? And then kasi, ang nangyari noon dapat talaga meron pa akong soap noong nakaraang taon.”
Dina continued that said series came at a wrong side. She also expressed her happiness on receiving the role.
“Pero, natapat ‘yun sa campaign season. So, they couldn’t wait for me. I was still campaigning so nabigay sa iba ‘yung role na in-offer sa akin. Now naman, I’m very happy na ‘Yay, walang campaign this year!’ And last year, nakatanggap ako so I’m very thankful to Dreamscape and sir Deo for choosing me to play this role. So, thank you!”
On the other hand, Pilar acknowledged that she only receives particular roles.
“Well, in my case, I think the last teleserye I had was A Love To Last. And, there has been some offers in between but some of them didn’t push through. But as I see my career in show business as far as soap opera is concerned, I really only come out when they need me for a particular role. So, maybe they haven’t had a role that I had, that they would need me in.”
Pilar also shared that she doesn’t come out only to be scenes. Although, she comes to be appreciated as an actress.
“So, this would be the opportunity for me to have this particular role. And, probably being a soap opera actress, I would probably hope that there would be more roles that would fit me. And that I could work on. So, that’s about it. I really don’t come out just to be seen, I think what is important for an actor is to be seen only when it’s worth watching her. So, I think that’s my goal. So, I would like to be able in shows that I can be appreciated and that is worth watching.”
Tessie shared that she had soap opera roles from GMA Network. However, her last Kapamilya teleserye was back in 2012. She also loved the role she has been given. She confirmed that she feels the love from the ABS-CBN Corporation.
“Para sa akin po, medyo mas major kasi nangibang-bakod ako. Marami akong ginawang soap sa kabila at ngayon, sa aking pagbabalik, damang dama ko ‘yung pagmamahal ng ABS sa akin. Sapagkat, ibinigay nila sa akin ang napakagandang role na kaya pinipilit kong gampanan sa abot ng makakaya. Pinasabi pa nga raw ni Sir Deo sa kinauukulan na sana ay happy si Miss Tessie sa kanyang role. I was singled out to be asked how I feel about myself.”
