- Veteran actor Christopher de Leon was already discharged from Asian Hospital after an accident on “Kambal Karibal” set.
- The 61-year old award-winning actor wants to send a message to all movie and teleserye productions to be extra careful on shooting delicate scenes.
After being hospitalized due accident during taping for “Kambal Karibal,” veteran actor Christopher de Leon was already discharged from Asian Hospital last March 12.
In a report written on PEP.ph, the 61-year old award-winning actor finally broke his silence about the incident.
According to the actor, his statements will be a reminder for all the movie and teleserye productions on the possible accidents that may occur during taping.
“Ang gusto ko lang iano na… kasi papa’no yung, like for example, yung mga bit players na kasama sa action or kasama sa mga eksenang may barilan, ganun? Will they take care of them also? Kasi, sa akin nangyari, puwede mangyari sa iba,” he said.
“Puwedeng mangyari dun sa mga, like, yung mga stuntmen, yung pinapasabugan, binabaril, di ba? Ano ang assurance ng mga artista from mga unfortunate incidents na ganito?” he added.
The said accident happened during Christopher’s death scene in the series. In the scene, Marvin Agustin killed his role through gun shot however the adaptor used was accidentally sink into the actor’s thigh.
“Ako kasi, kampante na ako, e. I’ve been doing this for ages already, e. I’ve been doing this for a long time already, yung mga barilan-barilan, ganun. Kaya lang, ngayon lang ito nangyari sa akin,” he shared.
Christopher himself did not think that the accident would happen to him. In his case, it might caused him more serious injury or even death.
“Parang bala na yung tumama sa akin,” pakli ng aktor. Sabi ng doctor, ‘Buti diyan ka lang tinamaan.’ Kung sa ibang parte ng… like, yung groin mo, instantly, patay ka daw, sabi ng doctor. Yung bumaon sa akin, like, yung four-inches deep. So, nahirapan silang tanggalin,” he said.
Meanwhile, according to team who handled the effects for the show’s shootings, the incident is considered as an isolated case.
“Pagkatapos, gastado na yung adaptor na ginamit. Nakita mo, may mga kalawang na? Kaya pagkukulang din talaga yung sa effects,” Christopher further revealed.
On the other hand, GMA Network handled all the hospital expenses of Christopher while the supplier who handled the show’s effects was made responsible too.
“Sinabi ko sa kanila, hindi ako maghahabla, kahit kapabayaan talaga nung sa effects. Sabi ko, ‘Pasensiya na kayo, magsasalita ako.’ Kasi hindi lang… maayos nga at ito lang yung nangyari sa akin. Sa akin nangyari ‘to. Pero papa’no yung iba, kung mga ibang artista, yung mga stuntmen, yung mga ano, sasagutin din ba nila yun?
“Sasagutin din ba ng produksiyon yun, nung effects group? Sasagutin ba nila? Dapat talaga merong insurance,” he ended.
