Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray remains laid back even after former Miss World 2007 Maggie Wilson and Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago posted negative comments about her receiving the title of Best in Swimsuit during Binibining Pilipinas 2018.
In an earlier report, both Maggie and Bea recently called out Catriona’s fans for being rude. However, the said incident came after said fans slammed them on body-shaming Catriona. In an Instagram Story, Catriona revealed that she respects Maggie and Bea’s complaint on her winning the special award. She also reminded her fans to remain calm and not be too overly sensitive to others’ opinion.
In the said Instagram Story, Catriona wrote that she has zero control over netizens’ reaction on Maggie and Bea’s opinion.
“Hey my loves I’ve been seeing some comments online regarding the comments of two of our beauty queens and their opinions on the best in swimsuit award in BBP2018. Firstly, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, let’s not be too overly sensitive.”
In another Instagram Story, she wrote:
“As I’ve said before debating and stating your own opinion is okay but let’s not retaliate with negativity. Secondly, to those who are saying that I need to control the fans, pasensya na po, but I cannot control them or tell what to and to not say.”
In the last Instagram Story, Catriona continued:
“Finally, let’s just be happy! I’m elated and over the moon to be our new Ms. Univese Philippines! We should be celebrating the new queens! More love, more positivity.”
Aside from crowned as the Miss Universe Philippines 2018, Catriona also received five special awards: Best in Swimsuit, Best in Long Gown, Pitoy Moreno Best in National Costume, Jag Denim Queen, and Miss Ever Bilena.
