Talking about the topic, “How to Put Pirates in Jail in China”, ABS-CBN AVP, General Counsel, Head for Global Anti-Piracy & Content Security Elisha Lawrence joined three others as keynote speakers at the Global IP ConfEX & Global Law Tech Exhibition at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel.
This event aims to bring together over 300 in-house counsel, law firm partners, law tech professionals, tech vendors and selected service providers. Lawyer participants attend the event to address and resolve some operational challenges in areas of Litigation, Technology, Software, E-discovery, Risk, Security, Compliance and Outsourcing, among others. The event helps them in finding solutions through learning and education and networking with the right service providers.
The 40th Global IP ConFEX is all about IP, Law and Technology, while the Global Law Tech Exhibition focuses on Law, e-Discovery, Artificial Intelligence and Technology.
In 2017, Lawrence represented global Filipino media and entertainment company ABS-CBN in collaborating with the police in Shenzhen, China to arrest the makers of illegally programmed pirate IPTV boxes.

Lawrence has over 25 years of experience as in-house Intellectual Property counsel creating and implementing anti-piracy/anti-counterfeiting strategies to mitigate risk and significantly increase sales in the US and globally for leading Fortune 500 organizations such as Levi Strauss, Twentieth Century Fox and Adobe Systems. She also has experience prosecuting criminal cases as a District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and a law degree from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, CA.
