And for those people like me who can’t leave the house without any decent food in the stomach, well, this recipe is for you.
Admittedly, this recipe has quite an unconventional ring to it as it uses Unipack Mackerel. What’s more, it is absolutely packed with nutrients along with other ingredients that we can put in it that it is such an easy way to up your vegetable intake.
A hot sour soup in the morning can definitely wake you up and carry your energy level until lunch time.

It’s called Sinampalukang Mackerel. It’s a decent meal for soup lovers and it’s easy to prepare, no need to spend so much time in the kitchen to cook this one.
Here’s what you’ll need (ingredients):
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 small onion
- 1 small pinch of salt
- Unipak Mackerel
- malunggay
- 1 glass of water
- pepper
- cooking oil
- sampalok
Here’s what you’ll do (procedure):
- In a cooking pan, heat oil
- Saute garlic and then onion together with the sampalok, previously juiced (remove it from its shell)
- Add the Unipak Mackerel sauce with water
- Add salt and pepper to taste
- Put in the Unipak Mackerel, let it boil
- Add the malunggay leaves
- Remove from heat and transfer it to a bowl
- You can put in a green chili for that yummy spicy kick – but that is optional.
- Serve it with rice
