The Lea Salonga-Aga Muhlach tandem is back on the small screen until end of this month as SKYdirect Free View offers subscribers a throwback to the 90s with the love team’s classic love story “Sana Maulit Muli.”
In the movie, Salonga and Muhlach are couple Agnes and Jerry, whose relationship is tested when one moves to the US to work. A prolonged separation from Jerry and a stable career makes an independent woman out of Agnes. The two eventually separate as Jerry begins avoiding her as he carves out a career of his own in the Philippines. Although the two reconcile after Jerry visits Agnes to try to win her back, he is unable keep up with the lifestyle in the US and of Agnes’ newfound success, so decides to leave her and go home to the Philippines.
The movie earned critical acclaim and won several awards, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay at the Gawad Urian, after its theatrical run in 1995.

“For The First Time” was the first movie pairing of KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez. It tells the story of an unlikely couple, playboy Seth (Gutierrez) and conservative Carmina (Concepcion). They fall in love after a summer together in Santorini, Greece but family and business stand in their way. Can their love overcome these obstacles?
Then, a story of love conquering grief and hardship can be seen in “In My Life,” where John Lloyd Cruz and Luis Manzano play Noel and Mark, a gay couple living in the US. Their life is disrupted when Shirley (Vilma Santos), Mark’s mother, lives with them after being evicted by her ex-husband. She has a hard time adjusting to their situation but in the end, she learns to accept Noel as part of their family.
