- Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo was tapped by Commission on Elections for pro-women campaign.
- The 21-year old actress will encourage young women to run for a public post.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has chosen Kathryn Bernardo as the face of their pro-women campaign to encourage more women to run in the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
According to a report by Philstar.com, the COMELEC said that Kathryn will appear in a video to be released in April calling on women to file their Certificate of Candidacy.
Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, COMELEC gender and development committee head, hopes Kathryn will bring in more young women to run for public posts due to her influence on the youth.
“They admire and follow her not only as an actor but as a role model,” Guanzon said.
On the other hand, Karla Estrada, mother of Daniel Padilla, took to Instagram to congratulate her on her new milestone, “Magandang umaga mga Momshie! Dahil sa suporta ni kath sa mga kababaihan, support narin tayo mga Momshie, popshie at anakshie!!!”
Goodluck on your newest role, Queen Kathryn!
