- Kapamilya actor Enrique Gil reacted on the comparison of his upcoming series “Bagani” to Kapuso Network’s hit telefantasya “Encantadia.”
- The 25-year old actor revealed that ABS-CBN has been working the series for a long time already.
Upcoming ABS-CBN telefantasya “Bagani” is already making noise as it is being compared to the most successful fantasy series in the Philippines, “Encantadia.”
One of the lead stars, Enrique Gil reacted on the comparison of the two epic-seryes from rival networks.
In an interview with PEP.ph, the Kapamilya actor said that the two series are called epic for different reasons.
“In comparison to other epic teleseryes, they’re epic for a reason. We’re just doing what they want to do: tell a good and great story, an epic story for people. That’s what we really want,” he said.
Enrique stressed out that they did not copy anything on their show, “Wala kaming ginagaya. It’s very original. It’s something new and something very, very close to our hearts.”
The former “Dolce Amore” actor disclosed that ABS-CBN has been working on this project for a long time already.
“This is actually five years in the making. Last year lang kami nagsimula. Matagal na po talaga siyang plano pero ngayon lang na-execute. We transferred a lot of the sets to Bulacan. But we still shoot in Bataan and Subic. Malalaki po ang sets na ginagawa,” he shared.
However, Enrique admitted that he is more comfortable doing rom-com projects since he has been doing them for a long time already.
“Yung mga linya namin, mahirap. Makatang Tagalog. May ibang words na hindi pwede gamitin. Hindi mo pwede sabihin yung mga words tulad ng ‘teka,'” he explained.
The trailer of “Bagani” indicated that this fantasy series will air its pilot episode this March. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that “La Luna Sangre” is now down to its last three weeks.
