Angelu de Leon is excited to work with newbie actors and actresses. She also remains supportive whenever she would see a huge potential on said newbies.
However, she admitted that she couldn’t believe it when a newbie remains unsociable.
Angelu also expressed her shock, she thought the said newbie looked kind and respectful. However, the said newbie has her own little world.
“Nagulat ako kasi mukha siyang mabait. Magalang naman siya sa akin. Naloka lang ako kasi parang may ibang mundo siya.”
Angelu shared a story about a rehearsal before taking the scene. When they started filming the scene, the newbie decided to create her own scene.
“Wala namang problema sa akin kung konti lang ang ibahin sa kaeksena natin. Pero ‘yung totally na gumawa ka ng ibang eksena, ibang usapan na iyon. Parang ang selfish mo naman kapag gano’n ka. Hindi ka team player. Kaya may rehearsal tayo, para magkaroon tayo ng interaction. Hindi ‘yung bigla na lang ikaw na lang ‘yung umeeksena. Eh kasama ako sa scene, ‘di ba? Ayun pinagalitan tuloy siya ng direktor namin.”
Angelu had a lot of encounter with actors and actresses who have different attitudes and behaviors. Some would even think that they already know everything there is in acting and that some would even act like privileged spoiled brats.
“Dumaan ako sa pagiging baguhan din. Pero never akong nagpakadunong. I always ask questions at inaalam ko kung may mali ba ako sa mga ginagawa ko. I respect the people who are ahead of me in this business. May ibang mga artista kasi ngayon, they feel privilege. They act like spoiled brats.
Angelu expressed her confusion why they would act like that. She also continued to ask them to be considerate. She adviced young actors and actresses to remain humble.
“Hindi ko alam kung bakit gano’n ang mga ugali nila. Maybe because pinagbibida na sila agad. Sana naman maging considerate rin ang mga bagong artistang ito. Porke’t alaga kayo ng isang TV network, lumalaki na agad ang ulo ninyo. It pays to be humble sa industriyang ito. The more humble you are, the more people would love to work with you.”
