GMA Network recently revealed that Jennylyn Mercado and Tom Rodriguez will star in a zombie-themed series titled The Cure.
The TV series had shelved in 2013 and became one of the most-awaited shows in 2018. The show tells the story of a group trying to find a place to take refuge. They are also trying to find a place to stay after the undead infested their own town.
However, this will not be the first TV series or movie to feature a zombie apocalypse. Just recently, Marian Rivera’s Super Ma’am also showcased zombies trying to infest their small town. In this zombie-themed episodes, some of the characters have a deep relationship with the un-dead.
The 2017 Philippine comedy-horror film, Trip Ubusan (The Lolas vs Zombies), featured three old ladies navigating through cities and provinces to save a group of people on ravaging zombies. Trip Ubusan, then, remains a parody for the 2016 South Korean zombie apocalypse action-thriller film, Train to Busan.

A 2011 Philippine independent suspense-comedy film Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington or Remington and the Curse of the Zombadings also featured zombies according to the title. In the trailer, gays started dying in the small community. The zombie-themed film also made a funny approach towards the scientific albeit a fictional topic.
The Grave Bandits feature Romy and Peewee, teenage orphans who loot cemeteries and steal belongings from the dead. Trying to flee the city where their family members start hunting for them. However, a contagious alien virus unleashed in the said town. The grave bandits needed to use their wits to battle against flesh-eating ghouls.
