- Vice Ganda’s MMFF 2017 entry sets another box-office record as the highest first day gross.
- Will “The Revenger Squad” reach the P1 billion target?
Last 2016, “The Super Parental Guardians” broke the record of “My Bebe Love” as the highest Filipino movie first-day gross of all time. The movie earned ₱68 million nationwide beating the Vic Sotto and Aiai Delas Alas movie first-day sales of ₱60,462,169.57.
This year, MMFF 2017 entry “The Revenger Squad” which stars Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla and Pia Wurtzbach sets a new record for their total first-day earnings of almost P80 million.
The 41-year old comedian shared the good news in his recent interview with LionhearTV.

“Tapos may bagong record yung pelikula, ito daw yung may pinakamalaking kinita nang first day, pinakamalaking first day gross. Almost P80 million yung kinita ko sa first day,” he proudly shared.
In one of his interviews, Vice Ganda shared that he is aiming for P1 billion total box-office sales for his movie.
“It’s on its way,” he answered when asked about his P1 billion goal.
“Unlike last year, on its ninth day, saka palang ako naka P300 million pero ngayon after five days, naka-P300 million na ako. Mas mabilis yung kitaan ng pelikula ko ngayon kaysa last year,” he continued.
“After two weeks, naka-P500 million na ako, di pa kasama yung international screenings,” he added.
Meanwhile, the said movie is considered as the front runner among the 8 entries of this year’s festival.
With his ‘unkabogable’ box-office power, Vice Ganda will surely named as the 7th-time phenomenal box-office star this year.
