After the box-office success of her Star Cinema film “Unexpectedly Yours,” ‘Megastar’ Sharon Cuneta admitted on her interview with PUSH.com that she became close to her two young co-stars Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia.
The 51-year old actress shared her working experience with JoshLia love team.
“Kinakagat ko yung (si Joshua) eh (laughs). Gigil ako sa kanya. Ginaganun ko siya pag nasa set. Very nice surprise sa amin na pareho silang professional, pareho silang magaling, versatile. Si Julia ni-re-remind ni direk na medyo mataray yung character niya pero all in all it was such a pleasant experience working with them. We really fell in love with the two of them,” she said.
Sharon shared how Julia impressed her during the duration of the films. The “The Voice PH” coach said that she did not find it hard to treat Julia like her own daughter.
“I’m very, very malambing to my children. Kaya nga naging very easy to relate to younger actors like Julia basta open sila. Si Julia kasi obsessed sa mommy niya so sa akin parang i-la-love mo talaga si Julia. I-la-love mo silang dalawa. It was so easy for me to shift from being the actress to the mother of Yani. Madali lang sa akin kahit wala ng motivation. Parang feeling ko anak ko siya eh. Nagkakaintindihan kami ni Julia.
“Si Julia napakatinong bata. Matino as in matinong babae, matinong katrabaho, matinong tao bukod sa napakaganda. Parang anak talaga yung trato namin sa kanila. We’ve kept in touch so I miss her very much every single day. I miss the set,” she explained.
Meanwhile, the award-winning actress reveals how she deals with millennials in and outside their home.
“KC and I went through our own share of issues and misunderstandings pero now our relationship is very strong. She’s grown up to be a very levelheaded adult so I’m very proud of her. Basta ako very open ako with them kasi medyo strict yung daddy at mommy ko. Especially KC 19 years ang agwat namin so wala masyadong generation gap.
“Dun sa mga sumunod mas open ako. Sila Frankie, sila Miel, even KC siyempre, they can come to me. And Frankie is turning 17 on the 16th. Next year debut na niya. She’s very mature pero it’s not like I have to put up with teenage angst kasi mababait yung mga anak ko. Miel is 13 pero she’s still my baby and Miguel is eight years old pa.
“Siya yung parang ipu-ipo namin sa bahay na joy namin because he’s really funny at home. Sa akin no problem so far and I’m praying it stays that way,” she said.
