Congressman Albee Benitez aims to help the movie industry. He will soon produce a film under his film outfit, Palm Asia. The said film will be the Filipino version and inspired by the Hollywood movie, Ocean’s Eleven.
Cong. Albee went on a fishing expedition with actors, Albert Martinez and Gabby Concepcion, when they thought of the project. They also planned to include Sharon Cuneta, Richard Gomez, Aga Muhlach, William Martinez and Piolo Pascual in the long list of award-winning cast.
During a lunch at Pio’s Kitchen in Quezon City, Cong. Albee also shared what he thought about the film:
“Ang unang title na pinag-isipan ay Squad Goals. Kumbaga, ang concept nu’n, bata pa sila, marami na silang kalokohang ginagawa. Pagtanda nila, parang modern day Robin Hood. Open sila na nakawan ang casino. So they will do something similar supposedly for common good. Parang ganoon ang kuwento. May pagka-comedy, action.”
Sharon, Piolo, Albert, William and Richard went to the said meeting. However, Gabby and Albert couldn’t make it. Rumors also suggest that Arjo Atayde, Paulo Avelino and Coco Martin will also topbill the said film. Cong. Albee also shared that he started piecing the contract together for the possible business partner for the project. The script has already been written and Dondon Santos will direct the said film.
