After almost six years, Kapuso actor Mikoy Morales finally gets his first leading role via upcoming fantaserye “Sirkus.” In an interview with PEP.ph, the 24-year old actor admitted he was upset for the lack of projects before.
“Within those three years na nagdaan, na-realize ko rin na… Siyempre, dati masakit, dati may tampo, parang wala akong nakukuhang work. Oo, masakit yun, totoo,” he revealed.
Mikoy will star alongside Kapuso singer-actress Mikee Quintos, who will play as his twin in the said fantaseries.
However, Mikoy did not consider his role on “Sirkus” as a big break in showbiz but an opportunity as an artist.
“It doesn’t feel like that. Parang feeling ko, hindi siya break,” he said.
“After a while, kapag nalaman mo na talaga kung ano ang gusto mong gawin sa industriya na ‘to, you don’t go for the specific things anymore, mas opportunity na lang siya sa akin,” he continued.
“Honestly ngayon, hindi na big break ang hanap ko. I just really want good opportunities to do good work and big material. Di ba, parang bonus na lang yung everything, yung big roles and everything? Everything is just a bonus. Para sa akin, yung material ang habol ko,” he further explained.
Meanwhile, Mikoy is grateful for the trust of Kapuso network in giving him a lead role in a TV series.
“For this show [Sirkus], doon ko masasabi na malaking trust yung ibinigay sa akin ngayon. Ngayon na napunta sa akin ang project na ‘to, ngayon ko masasabi na I’m ready to do a role like this. Parang kaya ko talaga, it’s the best timing,” he ended.
