Vice Ganda became the biggest star of the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival for his movie, Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad. The said movie also topped the 43rd annual film festival. Vice’s last highest box office gross sales in the said festival turned out to be The Beauty and the Bestie.
The said film also starred Coco Martin.
Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad earned Php 540 million from December 25, 2017 to January 7, 2018.
However, Coco’s first film as a producer and director while playing the titular role came in second. He played Ang Panday which served as Miss International Philippines 2017 Mariel de Leon and Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza’s first movie ever. Ang Panday earned Php 204 million from December 25, 2017 to January 7, 2018.
Siargao which earned the most number of awards and trophies during the 2017 MMFF awards night came in third. Director Paul Soriano helmed the said film which starred Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Jericho Rosales and Erich Gonzales. Siargao earned Php 80 million from December 25, 2017 to January 7, 2018.
Haunted Forest starring Jameson Blake, Jane Oineza, Jon Lucas and Maris Racal came in fourth. Haunted Forest also earned Php 56 million from December 25, 2017 to January 7, 2018. Meant to Beh starring Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta earned Php 51 million while All of You starring Derek Ramsay and Jennylyn Mercado earned Php 34 million.
