- Jay Sonza took to Facebook to react on the closure of Times Street.
- However, Mayor Herbert Bautista claimed that neither Noynoy Aquino nor Kris Aquino requested for iron gates to be built.
- Jay also urged Noynoy’s neighbors to protest against the former president’s residence in the home Sen. Ninoy creates for former president Cory.
Jay Sonza recently called out Quezon City Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista on closing a portion of Times Street where former president Noynoy Aquino currently lives. After calling Kris Aquino’s son, Bimby, “baklain,” the broadcaster blasted Mayor Bistek on allowing the building of the gate in the said upscale subdivision.
Manila Standard opinion columnist posted his findings on the said issue. This, then, led Jay to re-post the said statement and attach his own comments.
Jojo shared his story Facebook where Mayor Bistek explained the plan on closing the Times Street. The lengthy social media post also included that unruly protest rallies in front of the former president’s home. He also added that the local barangay chairman who recently passed away request the said gates. The post also included that neither Noynoy nor Kris suggested for the building of said gates.
“The huge Times Street gates, which will prevent entry into that stretch of road that includes the house of Noynoy Aquino, will not be closed except for “national security” reasons. Bautista defined this as “unruly” protest rallies in front of the home Ninoy built for Cory and where Noynoy now lives. According to Bautista, the gates were requested by the local barangay chairman, who died recently.
The village head, in turn, was acting upon the urging of his constituents in the neighborhood, who have noted the increasing number of protest actions in front of the Aquino home, especially since Noynoy stepped down as president. Bautista added that neither Noynoy nor his sister Kris, with whom the mayor is very friendly, asked that the gates be built.”
The post continued on stating that barangay officials, neighborhood leaders and watchmen facilitate on the said project. They will also decide when a threat exists around the area.
However, Mayor Bistek requested that the design of the iron gates should in accordance to the aesthetic of the upscale neighborhood. Although the Mayor has not visited the construction site, he promises to do so.
“The gates will be ordered closed only by barangay officials of West Triangle and their volunteer forces, not by the police or private security guards, whenever they think a rally is in the offing, according to the mayor. These neighborhood leaders and their watchmen alone will decide when such a threat exists.
As for the humongous iron gates themselves, Bautista said he requested that they be designed in accordance with the overall aesthetic of the upscale neighborhood. But the mayor admits that he hasn’t seen the actual construction site, although he intends to visit soon.
Bautista explained that the city doesn’t really have jurisdiction over Times Street, which is a national road that is managed and maintained by higher government agencies like the Metro Manila Development Authority.
I forgot to ask Bautista why Noynoy’s neighbors if they really hated the idea of seeing protesters on their street, didn’t ask the former president to move out instead. Or why the city had to build gates that will practically (or so Bistek says) never close.”
The post also clarified that neither Noynoy nor Kris decided to add a gate in the said portion of Times Street. They still received a hefty amount of negative comments from Jay. The broadcaster shared Jojo’s post on Facebook and added his own reaction as a resident himself. The said post also included that they didn’t need to involve the barangay chairman who passed away to plan a security agenda for the former president.
“Reax ko ito bilang isang taga-QC: Eh, sa putang inang buhay na to Mayor Bistekt, bakit kaming mga mamamayan ng QC ang papasan sa gastusin ng gate ng iyong sinisinta at bayaw na hilaw. Isinangkalan mo pa iyong matagal ng patay na chairman ng barangay sa kapritso mong “gated upscale subdivision.”
Jay also added that national authorities should run and manage the national road instead of barangay officials. He also included that Mayor Bistek just lit himself up for Filipinos cannot be fooled anymore.
“National road to be run and manage by barangay officials and tanod. Excuse your ass mister bautista, you graduated a course in philosophy from San Beda College, and you know very well that national road are managed by national authorities and not barangay tanod. Sa totoo lang sir, Lalo mo lang sinilaban ang sarili mo sa isyung ito. Hindi na maaring gaguhin ang Pilipino ngayon!”
After the said post, Jay urged Noynoy’s neighbors to unite so that the former president can leave the place. He also threatened that their lives will no longer be the same as the former president stays inside the home his father built for his mother.
“It’s about time that residents of West Triangle Village, Diliman, Quezon City bond themselves together and ask (plead with them or if it is asking too much to demand from) the Aquino Family to leave them in peace. YOUR LIVES WILL NO LONGER BE THE SAME NOW AT HANGGANG NANDIYAN SA LOOB NG VILLAGE ANG PAMILYA AQUINO.”
Jay also added that the neighbors and some Quezon City residents to expect heavy traffic around the area. He also included that it will be filled with people and vehicles.
“Expect series of mass actions, protest rallies not only in the vicinity of Times Street. The main roads of Examiner, Bulletin, West, Quezon, and other Streets will all be flooded with people and vehicles. What with families, friends and supporters of the following victims of the Aquino Administration.”
Jay continued to say and list down the Aquino administration’s mistakes in the past. The said mistakes which also resulted in deaths, poverty, disabilities and massive corruption.
“SAF 44, MILF, YOLANDA VICTIMS, DENGVAXIA VACCINES, SENIOR CITIZENS AND OTHERS WITH AX TO GRIND AGAINST THE AQUINO ADMINISTRATION’S SINS AND MISTAKES OF THE PAST THAT RESULTED IN DEATHS, POVERTY, DISABILITIES AND MASSIVE CORRUPTION. Kapag ito at sinabayan pa ng mga masasamang loob, tulad ng mga looters, akyat bahay gang at simpleng basag-ulo, at naku tapos na ang maliligaya at mapayapang buhay nyo.”
