- He also admitted that he didn’t expect to receive an award that is usually given to the actor who becomes an inspiration to the youth.
- He further recalled how he would sometimes go to Kuya Germs’ office full of trophies.
Ivan Dorschner declares his gratitude on receiving the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award in the 65th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS). The said award-giving ceremony was also held on December 28, Thursday in the Philippine Science Center Auditorium in Quezon City. Ivan shared that he went in showbiz in 2010 admitted that the said award became his first major recognition.
In an interview with PEP.ph during the GMA primetime teleserye press launch, The One That Got Away, Ivan expressed his thanks:
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa board of FAMAS, sa mga curators of our own local contributions to our pop culture. Sana nafi-feel niyo na I love what I do and I love other people that also love what I do, and I would just like to say thank you for the recognition. It’s actually my first award in the seven years na nasa showbiz ako.”
Ivan didn’t expect to receive such award that usually given to actors and actresses that becomes an inspiration to the youth.
“It feels very important. I’m very thankful sa council ng FAMAS at hindi ko alam kung ano yung ginawa ko mismo. Kung achievements, sana itemized list siya para mapakita ko naman sa mga magulang ko. I think ang pinakaimportante rito ay yung mga natutuwa sa mga ginawa namin. Naapektuhan namin sila. Sana binigyan namin sila ng karapatang sumaya, ngumiti every night sa bawat event namin.”
Ivan looked back at how he would sometimes go to Kuya Germs’ office full of trophies.
“Naaalala ko nung mga first days ko sa GMA, hinila ako bigla ng mga executives papasok sa office ni Kuya Germs. The whole office was a trophy in and of itself. Kitang-kita lahat ng mga pagiging creative and artistic niya sa mismong office space niya. So if I’m a person this year na nakatanggap ng award na nakapangalan sa kanya, you can call me proud.”
Furthermore, Ivan thanked the Kapuso Network that gave him a chance to showcase his talent.
“GMA has really shown me many doors opened. Choice ko naman buksan ‘yon, so thank you to GMA at nagkaroon ng tamang direksyon ang career natin. I will forever be thankful sa mga nagawa nila sa akin.”
