Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad won the full-length People’s Choice Award in 2017 MMFF.

It didn’t win many awards but still remains as a goal-winner.
Vice Ganda hoped that 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad will reach its 1-billion-peso mark. Although even it didn’t, the movie still remains a box office hit and received the People’s Choice Award. It also became the top grosser for the first two days of the said festival.
When cinemas started pulling out films that they thought wouldn’t sell to the audience, Vice Ganda’s movie remains on the list of choices in theaters nationwide. National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera also endorsed Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad. He is the chairman of the screening committee of the said film festival.
When announcing the official entries of MMFF 2017, Bienvenido said he would recommend Vice Ganda’s movie to his grandchildren. He also admitted that the movie remains a cheerful and happy one. On the second top grosser, Coco Martin’s Ang Panday also remained on top of the list.
Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad also stars Daniel Padilla and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
