- Suzette Doctolero responded to tweets about Contessa – an imitation of Wildflower.
- Both serve as a revenge-drama series from ABS-CBN and GMA.
- Suzette also reacted on Bagani – an imitation of Encantadia.
Suzette Doctolero took to Twitter to lash out at people telling her that Contessa will just be a knock-off brand of Wildflower. Contessa stars Glaiza de Castro as Bea and Wildflower stars Maja Salvador as Lily.
Both are revenge-drama series from competing networks, GMA Network and ABS-CBN Corporation, respectively. However, Contessa creators claim that their series has been in the works since 2012.
Suzette also wrote on Twitter:
“Bakit ba insecure sa Contessa? At ako inaaway? Di akin ang contessa lol. Pagkukurek: ang revenge story ay isa sa mga storyplots na intrinsic sa madaming soaps ex: Marimar, etc. matuturing revenge stories din yan. Inapi, naghiganti. So wag ariin hahaha. Di inyo lol.”
However, late last year, Suzette also went on a Twitter rant regarding Bagani‘s predictable story plot.
Suzette also insinuated that Bagani and Encantadia had a lot in common. She, then, continued to insult that one of the character’s costume looks like from a circus.
In both shows, each of the characters symbolizes basic elements: Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Although, Bagani writers created a character based on another element: Wood.
Twitter user, @sadboydotcom, tagged her on a photo with the caption: “Eto yung ‘classmate pakopya, ng assignment. Sige basta medyo ibahin mo para di halata.”
“Hahahhaha funny ka. May binago naman sila ah. Yung naka violet. Di sa enca ginaya. Pang circus ang costume. Hahahaha”, Doctolero responded.
Mark Duane Angos, Star Creatives and Bagani head writer, reacted badly to her insulting tweet countered:
“I think you should get out of this ‘originality discourse’ especially if you’re the one who copied CW’s Arrow. My friendly advice, focus on stories you’re writing. I’m sure there’s a lot of B-actors from Game of Thrones who can cameo on your next show.”
She retaliated with “Ay arrow talaga? Bobo hahahhahaha”
