GMA Network is set to make another Pinoy adaptation of a Korean hit series, this time the Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo series “Descendants of the Sun” is slated to air this 2018.
GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable confirmed the good news in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph.
“Yes, we bought it and like “My Love From The Star,” we’re going to do an adaptation,” Rasonable shared.
“We have to prepare for it. It’s very grand. Mukhang simple lang yung story pero the settings, how they are situated, medyo kailangang paghandaan, pag isipan, pati casting,” she continued.
Rasonable, however, said that they are yet to choose the actors who will bring life to the characters of the Korean drama. The Kapuso lady executive answered the rumors saying that Alden will play the role of the male lead character.
“Well, I’m not saying that hindi pwede kay Alden kasi sa totoo lang, bagay na bagay din siya. Kung siya, I’ll be very happy. But now, wala pang cast,” she said.
Prior to the adaptation, GMA Network already aired a Tagalog-dubbed version of “Descendants of the Sun” on its prime-time block in 2016.
