Today, YouTube revealed the top ten rising YouTube creators with the highest percentage of subscriber growth for 2017. This year’s list is a mix of comic acts, cover artists, and creators with niche interests.
Topping the list is adventure vlogger and comic actor SENPAI Kazu now with over 200,000 subscribers. Some of SENPAI Kazu’s most popular videos include parodies, vlogs, and humorous interviews on random subjects. Landing on the second spot is hip hop group Ex Batallion Music, with over 300,000 subscribers, followed by animated web series channel Winshard with over 150,000 subscribers. All three creators registered over 1000% growth this year.
Included in the list is Niana Guerrero, one-half of the sibling duo Ranz and Niana and recipient of the Gold Play Button given to creators who surpass the 1 million subscriber mark.
Also landing in the top five is custom doll artist and NextUp finalist Maureen Gabrielle Hermoso, the creator behind the channel Mozekyto. Launched in the Philippines last July, NextUp is a mentorship program to help nurture promising creators into the next YouTube stars. As a finalist, Maureen joined a 5-day Creator Camp where she learned techniques on how to make compelling content.
Filipinos’ enduring love for music also keep song covers popular. Your Face Sounds Familiar contestant Andree Bonifacio, better known as AC, maintains a playlist for her song covers. Pen tapper Dineson Cañeda gives a creative twist to different songs by tapping pens on tables to create beats.
Other creators who made it to the list are lifestyle and dance vlogger Riva Quenery, underground comedian Cong TV, and Skyheart’s Toys, a channel focusing on a toddler’s playtime and toys
Some television programs with YouTube channels also increased the number of their subscribers. Public service program Raffy Tulfo in Action saw over 800% growth while celebrity musical competition Your Face Sounds Familiar increased its subscribers by more than 1700%.
