Steven Paysu, a laboratory technician from California, USA and Makoto Inoue, a public school teacher from Tokyo, Japan will represent the global community of Filipino singers in “Tawag ng Tanghalan’s” grand finals in “It’s Showtime.”
Both singers were named grand finalists after winning the first-ever week-long global semifinals that ended on Saturday (Dec 12), which saw Steven garnering the highest combined score of 93.4% from the madlang people text votes and judges’ scores. Makoto, meanwhile, recorded 77.13%.
They won P150,000 each after beating Jing Wenghofer and Penny Salcedo, who are based in the USA and Hong Kong, respectively.
Steven and Makoto will continue fighting for their dreams and battle for vocal supremacy against Jovany Satera and Alfred Relatado of Quarter 1 and Anton Antenorcruz and Remy Luntayao of Quarter 2 in the grand finals.
