Because of her busy schedule, Shaina’s family wouldn’t be able to go to the United States for the holidays.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Shaina Magdayao admitted that the production gave her a totally different role from the character Angelica Panganiban’s supposed to portray. In the said interview, Shaina answered the reports stating that she totally replaced Angelica in the upcoming television series, ‘Asintado.’
“When they presented it to me, I asked them, ‘Ito ba yung role?’ Because I just wanted it to be clear also. Pero sabi nila hindi because from iyong original story, nag-iba na raw talaga. Nagkaroon ng major changes story-wise.”
She clarified that the said character she will play would be the only different thing in the said series.
“Hindi daw ang character na iyon. Although technically, pareho ang theme. Meron pa ring action, meron pa ring family at love interest.”
Shaina also admitted she couldn’t say no to the project because of its powerhouse cast: Lorna Tolentino, Cherry Pie Picache, Agot Isidro, Nonie Buencamino, Julia Montes and Paulo Avelino. She also confessed that she loved working with the said cast.
“Parang every taping day, if only I could just watch because we are working with tita Lorna Tolentino, ate Pie, ate Agot, and tito Nonie Buencamino. It’s my first time to work with Julia also. Si Paulo, I’ve worked with him already pero this is just totally different.”
She also stated that the said role would be very far from her usual roles.
“It’s very far from the roles I usually portray. It’s going to be a challenging 2018 I guess.”
Shaina is very excited as she also has another project other than ‘Asintado.’ She has a sequel to her TV series, ‘Single Single’ which will be turned into a movie.
“I thought after ‘The Better Half,’ dahil napakabigat ng material na ginawa namin, sabi ko magpapahinga muna ako. But siguro hindi pa meant na magpahinga ako,” she said. “It’s actually very overwhelming na tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho but I think busy is good. I am very thankful.”
However, because of Shaina’s busy schedule, her family won’t be able to leave for the United States this Christmas.
“We’ll be staying here because last year, we went to the States. Ngayon, iyong sister ko and my pamangkins are the ones na lilipad naman sa Manila. Family lang.”
